Mount Riley, 17 Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2024

From Mount Riley's Cromarty vineyard in the Southern Valley, this is a special Sauvignon with ripe, concentrated fruit and lingering depth of flavour from hand-picked grapes. Fermentation takes place in old French oak barriques, and subsequently stirring of the wine on its lees helps develop texture and weight. The wine matures on its lees for eight months, with no sulphur added until just before bottling.

Aromas of herbs, lemon and flowers and a hint of smoke let you know that this is a more complex wine than the vivacious Estate Sauvignon. The flavours are broader too, with rich ripe Sauvignon character embroidered by spice, floral notes and focused acidity before a long, tasty finish.
